The Story

Born at the House of Lords. Built for every stage.

On 20 June 2023, SKB Law hosted the 'South Asian Women Gamechangers in Law' event at the House of Lords. Over forty legal professionals joined Members of the House of Lords and prominent figures in the industry — including Lubna Shuja, the first Asian and Muslim woman to serve as President of the Law Society of England & Wales.

  • Aura Network is open to South Asian women at every stage of their legal career — from law students and trainees through to partners, judges, and senior leaders. Allies who actively support South Asian women in law are also welcome.

  • Search for 'Aura Network' on LinkedIn and request to join the community. There is no application process or fee — you'll be welcomed in.

  • No. The network includes solicitors, barristers, paralegals, judges, in-house lawyers, academics, students, and career changers. The unifying focus is supporting South Asian women across the whole legal profession.

  • Events run both online and in person across the UK, with a mix of intimate networking dinners and larger panels. Members are notified through the LinkedIn community and the SKB Hub Events page.

  • Most Aura Network events are free for members. Where a venue or external partner introduces a cost, that will be made clear at the point of booking.
